The foundation capital amounts to CHF 7.7 million at the end of 2020.
Flow and use of funds from 1977 to 2020
From 1977 to 2020, the R. Geigy Foundation supported the Swiss TPH with a total of CHF 29,227,406.
Of this amount, CHF 12,168,608 (41.6 %) went to research (in Switzerland, Tanzania, Liberia, etc.), support for dissertations CHF 3,537,232, support for post-doctoral studies CHF 389,410 and further training of employees CHF 632,503, which corresponds to a share of 15.6 % in education and training.
CHF 10,157,273 was spent on providing infrastructure and CHF 525,761 on equipment, devices and instruments. This corresponds to a share of 36.6 %.
Various projects were supported with CHF 513,082 (1.8 %) from the Ermitage Fund.
The anniversary package (for the 70th anniversary of the Swiss Tropical Institute and the Swiss TPH) and miscellaneous amounted to CHF 1,303,536 (4.5%).

IMPACT
The R. Geigy-Stiftung supports the Swiss TPH in generating and validating scientific results and implementing them together with the local population. Since 1976, the foundation has supported this value chain from innovation to validation and implementation with about CHF 20 million. In addition, the R. Geigy-Stiftung supports individuals, infrastructure projects and projects for knowledge transfer.
