The foundation capital amounts to CHF 7.7 million at the end of 2019.
Flow and use of funds from 1977 to 2019
From 1977 to 2019, the R. Geigy Foundation supported the Swiss TPH with a total of CHF 28,072,437.
Of this amount, CHF 11,414,324 (40.7 %) went to research (in Switzerland, Tanzania, Liberia, etc.), support for dissertations CHF 3,492,132, support for post-doctoral studies CHF 389,410 and further training of employees CHF 566,825, which corresponds to a share of 15.8 % in education and training.
CHF 9,997,273 was spent on providing infrastructure and CHF 410,855 on equipment, devices and instruments. This corresponds to a share of 37.1 %.
Various projects were supported with CHF 498,082 (1.8 %) from the Hermitage Fund.
The anniversary package (for the 70th anniversary of the Swiss Tropical Institute and the Swiss TPH) and miscellaneous amounted to CHF 1,303,536 (4.6%).

IMPACT
The R. Geigy-Stiftung supports the Swiss TPH in generating and validating scientific results and implementing them together with the local population. Since 1976, the foundation has supported this value chain from innovation to validation and implementation with CHF 28 million. In addition, the R. Geigy-Stiftung supports individuals, infrastructure projects and projects for knowledge transfer.
